Kayak polo is a mix of basketball, water polo, and kayaking. And it’s a whole lot of fun! Games are open to the public and free for all. No experience is required. We’re happy to teach you what you need to know.

Where we play

We play near Pier 4 Beach in Brooklyn Bridge Park, right off the marina. We meet at the Boathouse.

Please note: Parking is extremely limited near the park, so we strongly advise taking public transportation. Google Maps or the MTA Trip Planner (use the location “Brooklyn Bridge Park Boathouse, Kayak Polo”; the location should be near Pier 4 Beach, not at Pier 2!) can help you figure out how to get to us. If you use CitiBike, the closest docks are called “Brooklyn Bridge Park - Pier 2” and “Atlantic Ave & Furman St.”

Our most frequently asked questions

Do I have to sign up?

We are limited to 10 people per game, so the best way to guarantee that you’ll play is to sign up.

What if I don’t know how to play?

Not a problem—we’ll teach you what you need to know! Just be sure to arrive 15 minutes early so we can give you a tutorial on the game and the equipment.

Do I need to bring anything?

We provide the helmets, life vests, kayaks, and paddles. The only things you need to bring are clothes you’re comfortable getting wet in, sunscreen, and water.
