Season Happenings
at the BBP Boathouse

There's a lot that happens throughout the year. The Brooklyn Bridge Park Boathouse hosts events, classes, kayaking sessions, social gatherings, fundraising events, lectures and informative sessions, trips and training, and much more. These happenings are primarily for BBPB Volunteers but can also include out partner NYC Boathouses, ACA Members and the public. 
The events listed below note the level of participation.

USCG Educational Session: Navigation Rules Of The River

July 31st, Monday. Join us for this free class led by Officer Charles “Drew” Wilkins from the USCG to learn about the navigation rules of the road; how to interpret the colors, lights and sounds of the waterways so you know what the other vessels are going to do and which way you should go to get out of the way.

Lake Sebago Exhibition Kayak Polo & BBQ

August 6th Sunday. All levels are welcome — from very beginners to experienced to this incredibly fun & friendly mash-up between BKP, NYKP, NBBC and Sebago Members. Free paddling is included for all invited. Children are welcome and can have fun swimming in the kids pool or enclosed swimming area of the Lake. 

ACA Camp at Lake Sebago is within the Harriman State Park, Seven Lakes Drive, which is an hour drive from NYC (32 miles No. of NYC)

Time: 9am - 7pm
Invited: ACA Members, BBPB, NYC Boathouses and friends & Family
Fee: $7 Food & Polo Participation


Friends & Family Paddle

August 20th Sunday If your friends or relatives haven't haven't had a chance to come down to experience some kayking with a great view of NYC skyline — now's there chance! And If they're busy, come anyway and make some new friends. You and your guests are encouraged to join us post paddle to keep on experiencing the beautiful skyline views from the rooftop deck at Forninos, on Pier 6 in the park where there are some great pizzas on the menu.
Time: 2pm to 4:30pm
